During my devotional time with God on yesterday, He asked me a simple question. He said, "Do you understand the time and season you are in?" Prior to Him asking me this, I asked Him to give a Word. Well He gave me a Word alright, but it first started with a question. To get a better understanding of the question, the Holy Spirit had me read, study, and meditate on Ecclesiastes 3.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
There is a season (a time appointed) for everything and a time for every delight and event or purpose under heaven—
A time to be born and a time to die; A time to plant and a time to uproot what is planted. A time to kill and a time to heal; A time to tear down and a time to build up. A time to weep and a time to laugh; A time to mourn and a time to dance. A time to throw away stones and a time to gather stones; A time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing. A time to search and a time to give up as lost; A time to keep and a time to throw away. A time to tear apart and a time to sew together; A time to keep silent and a time to speak. A time to love and a time to hate; A time for war and a time for peace.
Essentially what God was asking me was did I know what season I was in and was I operating in it accordingly. After reading over the passage of scriptures and getting a confirmation from the Holy Spirit, I was able to identify the season I was in. Knowing and understanding what season you are in is crucial to effectively operating in your God given purpose and calling. Your emotions may be stuck in a weeping season, when God is calling you into a season of laughter. You can't be crying over what you lost last season when God is trying to bless you with something new and better in this season. Personally, I have been in an extended season of peace, but now God is calling me into a season of spiritual warfare.
Do you know what season you are in? You need to be able to discern and understand the times and seasons of God. Like our natural season, you need to know what spiritual season you are in. As men and women of God we need to learn how to operate in the Issachar anointing. What's the Issachar anointing? According to www.fromhispresence.com, the Issachar anointing is the ability to discern political and spiritual times and seasons of God.
The sons of Issachar could discern what God was doing and when He was doing it.
They knew when one move of God was ending and another one was beginning.
They could discern when a leader was falling and another leader was rising.
They could even tell you who the next leader should be. They knew who to follow and when to follow him or her.
