Don't Put Your Mouth On Who God Has His Hands On

Updated: Aug 17, 2020

Have you ever been rebuked by God? If you are truly His child, you have. Lately, I have been getting rebuked by God because I have been grumbling, complaining, and criticizing against those in authority over me. God hates when we complain, criticize, and judge others. Don't believe me, read Numbers 12 in the bible.

God judged Moses' sister and brother, Aaron and Miriam, because they criticized him for marrying a Cushite woman (black woman) and because of His favor with God. When I tell you that made God mad! He was so mad that he commanded them and Moses to go the Tabernacle. When they did, this is what He said to them:

Even with a prophet, I would communicate by visions and dreams; but that is not how I communicate with my servant Moses. He is completely at home in my house! With him I speak face-to-face! And he shall see the very form of God! Why then were you not afraid to criticize him?” Then the anger of the Lord grew hot against them, and he departed. (Numbers 12:6-9)

Whew! God was mad mad! Like real mad! For their criticism, God struck Miriam with leprosy for seven days. God's judgement was harsh, but He had to make a point. He wanted to make it real clear to Aaron and Miriam, and all of the Israelites to not put their mouth on His chosen vessel, Moses. Was Moses perfect? Nope! We all know Moses had his share of issues, yet He was who God chose to take His people to the promised land. Unfortunately, because of Moses' anger issues he didn't make it to the promised land, but still God honors him highly.

James 4:11-12 says, "Don’t criticize and speak evil about each other, dear brothers. If you do, you will be fighting against God’s law of loving one another, declaring it is wrong. But your job is not to decide whether this law is right or wrong, but to obey it. Only he who made the law can rightly judge among us. He alone decides to save us or destroy. So what right do you have to judge or criticize others?"

It is human nature for us to complain about our bosses when they get on our nerves or gossip about a well known pastor who publicly falls from grace. As natural as it may be, we need to stop because God considers that a sin (judging others) and a violation of His law of love. When we criticize, slander, gossip and complain about others, we open up a door for God to judge us. And you see what happen to Aaron and Miriam when they judged Moses. While God may not judge us that harsh or severely, He will judge us when we complain about or dishonor those He has called to be in authority over us.

God sees our mean bosses' evil ways. He sees the pastor in the church sleeping with the women, and in some cases, men in the church. He sees all and He will deal with them! When we see this going on what He wants us to do is pray for them. We need to pray for the boss we hate. We need to pray for the celebrities we gossip about. We need to pray for the pastors and ministers we know who have fallen into sin. We need to pray for the people we have put our mouths on!

We also need to repent! You don't want to get struck with leprosy do you? Just kidding, but seriously! You don't want God "the Righteous Judge" to judge your for speaking evil of others. He will if you don't repent. Aaron and Miriam lived under the old covenant, thank God we live under of the new covenant of God's grace and mercy through Jesus Christ! So if you have been judging, slandering, gossiping, complaining, and criticizing, REPENT and stop doing it. Pray for those people!!!! Don't put your mouth on who God has His hands on!

I pray this post has blessed you! If it did, please share it with others on your various social media platforms.
