God never ceases to amaze me. The bible says the Father knows what we need even before we ask Him (Matthew 6:8). He knows you need deliverance. He knows you need healing. He knows you need immediate provision. He knows! But He also knows you haven't asked Him for it. James 4: 2 says, "Ye have not, because ye ask not." Understand this please, closed mouths do not get fed. If you need something from God, ask Him for it! During my personal bible study with God, I read a story about a blind beggar that received his sight from Jesus in Matthew 10. You see, though this man couldn't see, he could hear and he heard Jesus was on his street. So what did he do? He cried out to Him! He cried and asked Him, "Son of David, have mercy on me" (Matthew 10:48)! This man boldly asked for his sight! The Word tells us to come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrew 4:6).
The blind beggar knew that Jesus was merciful. He also knew that Jesus healed those who approached Him and asked. He might have been blind, but his hearing worked just fine! He had heard about the many miracles Jesus had performed and figured if he asked, He could perform a miracle for him too! And guess what! He received what he asked for!
What do you need from God that you haven't asked Him for it? Is it healing in your body? Restoration of your marriage? Deliverance from an addition or fear? Breakthrough in you finances? Protection from fierce enemies? Have you cried out to Him in prayer about it? Jesus tells us in Matthew 7:7-8, "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened." God answers those who ask Him! Don't wish for what you need. Don't hope for it! Boldly ask God for it! And keep on asking until you receive it.
The blind beggar kept crying out unto Jesus until He answered. He was determined to receive his sight that day! How desperate are you to get your need fulfilled? Are you like the widow woman in Luke 18 that cried out to wicked judge for justice day and night until he finally granted it to her? That woman's faith and persistent asking got he her petition approved. Even the blind beggar was told to shut up and stop calling Jesus from the people in the crowd. But in response to their demand, the Word says, "He kept crying out all the more" (Matthew 10:48). Do you have "all the more" faith? Faith that keeps asking! Faith that keeps seeking! Faith that keeps knocking! That blind beggar was personally called out by Jesus in the crowd and was given his sight because he had the faith and audacity to ask. My beloved, you have not because you ask not! And if you have asked and still haven't received your need yet, keep asking!
